As NSBE's president this school year, I'm committed to expanding our organization's impact on campus by reaching out to STEM students more effectively. In order to promote inclusion and encourage more students to pursue STEM careers, I intend to arrange fun activities and workshops that are tailored to the needs of our audience. My overall objective is to increase NSBE's influence and visibility in order to motivate the next generation of diverse STEM leaders.

Tyler Galbreath-Taylor
Being secretary lets me actively contribute to keeping our group organized and effective. I’m looking forward to capturing our meetings, tracking goals, and ensuring that everyone stays connected and informed. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support our team, help bring our plans to life, and create a positive impact on campus. I can't wait to work alongside such passionate people and make this year one of our best yet!

TREASURER
Gemarion Bynum
As the treasurer of NSBE, my mission is to manage our chapter’s finances to directly support our goal of increasing the number of culturally responsible Black engineers. I am committed to ensuring that our funds are used effectively to create opportunities for our members through workshops, networking events, and conference trips, all designed to support both academic success and professional development.

Christopher Henton
Being in NSBE has allowed me to grow as a person, while also meeting like minded people who carry the same dreams of success. NSBE has pushed me to do more academically and for my community. It’s given me more opportunities to volunteer, while also putting me in more leadership roles.

To me, NSBE represents a community where people of color feel welcomed and empowered within the engineering field, providing them with the support and opportunities needed to achieve success on an equal footing with their peers.

FINANCE CHAIR
Briana Earls
I joined NSBE so that I can connect with people and create a family within an organization. As a Business Administration major, I apply my skills to my Finance Chair position. I contribute to NSBE's financial growth by organizing and executing fundraising events. Along with collaborating with other organizations to build connections and unity. I want to get the name of NSBE out onto campus so that people know they are free to join if they are interested!

Charles Portis
To me NSBE has allowed me to engage and interact with people who share similar interest and have similar background as me. It allows me to gain opportunities and knowledge in the path in building my career. It makes me feel empowered being around other engineering who I try my best to benefit and who benefits me

Emmanuel Odusanya
A third-year computer science student with an interest in enterprise software design. In his role as the new senator, using his dynamic personality and innovative approach, he is committed to representing the chapter on a bigger scale and also playing an important role in boosting the amount of culturally responsible Black engineers and STEM majors in the NIU NSBE chapter.

ENGINEERING PROJECT TEAM LEAD
Oladipo Olowe
Hello my name is Oladipo Olowe Jr. I am a mechanical engineering major who is interested in robotics. NSBE has been an integral part of my college experience thus far. This is my first year being on the Executive Board for NSBE and I hope to continue to foster an environment of camaraderie and goal oriented growth. It fills me with great pride to now be a leader in the organization that has contributed significantly to my sense of belonging on campus.

As marketing chair, I play a key role in amplifying our mission, showcasing Black excellence, and ensuring our initiatives reach and inspire others. I aim to create opportunities for engagement, foster connections, and highlight the achievements of our members, strengthening our presence and impact in the engineering world.

Our impact extends across various initiatives, including community service, fundraising, and the development of NSBE Jr. chapters, all aimed at empowering the next generation of Black engineers. I am excited to contribute to NSBE’s mission and help drive positive change in society.
